Summer Pandemic Update on Fall Planning

Dear St. Joseph parishioners,

I wanted to make you aware of some modifications we have made for the upcoming 2020/2021 Faith Formation and Youth Ministry year. We are continuing to monitor information of the pandemic, especially as it relates to in-person learning. We also appreciate you recognizing that the situation is fluid and may change before classes actually begin.

Sunday school (grades K-5) will still be offered for the two sessions on Sunday mornings in a classroom setting or parents may opt to do at-home faith formation with their children with materials picked up on designated days/times from St. Joseph. There will be support for parents who choose at-home formation.

Children attending in person classes will have their temperatures taken before they enter the school building (if over 99.5 children will not be allowed to enter the building), be required to wear a mask, use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands upon request, and respect social distancing requirements.

If you have already registered a child for Faith Formation (K-5), you will be contacted no later than the week of August 20th to see if you want to change your learning preference from classroom to at-home. Your choices will be: Session 1 (8:30-9:30 am), Session 2 (10:30-11:30 am), or at-home.

We are working to finalize the plan for Youth Ministry. May God continue to bless you and keep you and your family safe and healthy.

Yours in Christ,

Tara Bart, Director of Religious Education
